It might be worth it. A lot of time has obviously gone into fixing it the right way. But still has a ton of miles on it, and the insurance company may not be happy about insuring it for that much money.

Notice that he has well over the opening bid into that car. What do you think is going to happen if you buy it for $8500? Same thing that he's finding. No one wants to spend that much money on that car. And he's been at it since September!
