My motor is freshly rebuilt! It runs ok except that it overheats once during the first five minutes of operation. I have changed the water pump t stat flushed the radiator and fan is new so maybe my temp sensor is bad but thats not my a major concern. When the car is idling and in the lower rpm range every two seconds or so u can hear just a small sputter. I have replaced the coil, wires, plugs, and rotor which seemed to help out some but there is still a small sputter. The motor doesnt hesitate upon acceleration, although it doesnt accelerate like it used to before I rebuilt it.

I wouldnt worrie about it man. I have had my sr for a while now and it has always had a little sputter at an idle. I jest tell the honda guys that the turbo is so big its hard to rotate it at an idle and it makes that sputter. I would worrie about the reason its not as fast for right now that should indicate fuel, air, spark, or maybe boost is low for break-in purposes..... if not it should be

good luck

injectors or throttle body are culprits for what you just mentioned.

i cleaned my injectors and put new o rings on them but im actually thinking about going a lil bigger! maybe that will solve the problem. I havent put an aftermarket intake on yet so im thinkin it might be the fact that i cut off the entire bottom end of my air box that is causing the flutter thanks for the info bro! i will definately take that into consideration!

Cleaned your injectors? How? I have noticed that when people send their injectors off for cleaning, they sometimes come back in worser condition. Also, make sure the injector electical plugs are completely seated. If one is loose, you will get intermittent hesitation and sputtering, as you describe. Cutting the bottom of the air box out shouldn't affect the intake, though. Just make sure that you won't be ingesting water or trash up in there, bro.

yeah, my wiring harness is pretty shotty now adays including the connectors. Would it be best to just buy a new one while im at it? I'm pretty sure my connections are good but i'm the type of person that likes to be 100 percent sure, not just pretty sure.

hey bro my ka was doing the same thing a while back. I pulled my spark plugs and they black, like if they were spray painted black. Of course this mean i was running really rich. My ka still had the factory O2 sensor so i replaced it and got new NGK spark plugs. I was still running rich, i then took a closer look at the connector that plugs into the O2 sensor and it was almost black cuz there is a factory bracket bolted to the ex mani which holds the O2 sensor plug, so i cut that plug of and spliced the wire directly to my O2 sensor and that fixed my problem.

If your car is stock dont get the bigger injector. your car will run worse, unless you get a wide band and a fuel controller. make sure your pulgs are at the right gap.
