I am almost done with the swap. I switched out my CA dump pipe for an SR dump pipe and downpipe. I have the oxygen sensor screwed into the bung on the top of the dump pipe, but there is another bung further down. I am really having trouble finding a bolt that will thread in the hole. Is this leak going to hinder performance or damage anything? I wouldn't worry about it so much, but it's right next to the turbo. If I can't find a bolt I guess I'll have somebody weld in a slightly smaller bolt to cover the hole. Just wanted to know what my best course of action is.

Thanks,Mike

Maybe I'll get that, but do you know for sure that it will fit the hole? Also, the bun that I'm trying to plug up doesn't have the little screw-in adapter because it's in the other hole with the sensor. Does anybody know how big that opening is or if that fitting is designed for that opening?

Thanks,Mike

i dont really know how safe that would be.... sounds like jon speaks from experience though.

that plug is for some stupid emissions junk that the SR had. look for a "AIV" plug. it can be found at http://www.heavythrottle.com under "custom products" (4 from the bottom, left margin of page) for a rediculous $12.00 plus shipping.

Is it not a standard thread?I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to find a bolt that would fit that hole, most likely it's metric threading.take the piece into home depot, it the metric section and go nuts till one fits.

K n freshalloy someone claims it's M24 x 1.5So it's same diameter as the O2 sensor but finer threadpitchSo goto some home supply store and get one for $0.25 instead of $12.00 + shipping

Yea, just take that baby down to your local hardware store and start checking bolts out till you find one that fits. Make sure and put some hight temp loc-tight or a lock-washer on there so it won't vibrate back out.

I tried one hardware store, and no luck. Okay so just to clear some things up, there is the thing that the oxygen sensor screws into, then that thing screws into the dump pipe. I need a boly that screws into the dump pipe not the sensor threading. Anymore help?

if its a stock sr o2 sensor housing, it should have 2 bungs on it, one for the oxygen sensor and one for some aiv thingy. look in the picture on heavy throttle. im talking about the nut thingy in their picture.

Maybe it's the same size as the KA's AIV and EGR holes, if so you can try getting part 14052-21R00 from the dealer, it should be very cheap. Courtesy Nissan actually had them in stock when I picked them up for my KA.. they're OEM plugs because they're used on the Frontier or something, but you can use it to block off the exhaust side of the EGR/AIV on KA's, probably same size for SR.

OK, just so we're all on the same page here...

The Turbo housing connects to the O2 Pipe, the O2 Pipe connects to the Dump Pipe, the Dump Pipe connects to the Test Pipe, the Test Pipe connects to the Cat-Back.

Do you want a plug for the O2 Pipe, or the Dump Pipe?

take the AIV fitting out of your stock KA exhaust. hack off the pipe from it. drop a nickel in the Dump tube hole, put the KA AIV fitting on top of it REALLY tight. your done.
