Minor Conundrum:BOVs A Plenty

So I am stuck. Bought an ARC BOV to match my IC (cuz I am a ricer) but can't find a weld on flange to get it on my new hotpipe. Hmmm. So I buy a HKS SSQV and am about to get a flange for that (so easy to find, which is nice). But I feel that I may have a change of heart. Plus, I may have found someone who can import an ARC flange. If not, f' it....I bet I can make one.

So if you had both sitting next to you on the bed, would you pick the ARC or the SSQV. Dumb question....I'm bored.

Well, I am just stuck because one has the option of being vented (HKS) while the ARC MUST be recurriculated. Both are fast acting vavles and are of equal build quality. Argh...decesions!

in that case go with the HKS so i can have the ARC..personally i never liked the HKS BOV's

Well my source in JDM land is still trying to contact ARC to get me a flange. If it works out, I am sticking w/ the ARC, but if not, then the SSQV will go nicely with my other HKS toys.

How does the ARC sound? I've heard the HKS as most of the evo's here have them . I'm gonna get a greddy type s. haven't heard that one over here.

The ARC sounds sort of like a GReddy Type S to be honest, but I have had my ARC recurriculated for a while. so I really can't remember what it sounds like vented. Recurriced it sound like a two stage twitter and woosh, but it is VERY quiet. Like I have to be putting my foot down hard and lift off all of a sudden to hear anything. Used to be able to hear it vent from about 100 yards away.....Even louder than my exhaust!!

arc sounds like a DSM... hks is better.

they have a bunch of inserts to change the sound

I bought my ARC M070 Super Sidemount from a guy in JDM land. Ran me $300+shipping. If I remembered his email, I still wouldn't apss it alng because it took him 3 months to get it to me after I paid. Watch eBay. I see them on there from time to time.

BTW retail is 98,000 yen, or about $880 USD.
