I'm building an SR powered 521 Datsun, wich was carbeurated. Just wondering if I have the complete engine, trans, harness (uncut), ecu, igniter and fuse panel, along with all sensors and what not, if I put ignition power to the fuse panel and have power to my starter and a working fuel pump. Is there anything I might be missing to get this thing to run. Oh yea, this is in theory as I do not have my engine/trans yet, just collecting up info. Thanks for any help.

You'll have to duplicate the power routing for the ECU and ignition systems. Grab the service manuals from www.nicoclub.com/FSM and go through the 240sx EL section. I prefer the S13 manual as the wiring diagrams are a bit easier to read. We also have the S14 SR manual in english and the S13 SR manual in japanese.

I know there are plenty of people out there who have running SRs in their datsuns, so hit up google and see if any of them documented their build.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the power routing diagrams. Just want to know if there is anything funny I need to look out for. I've built several Chevys and Hondas, this is somehow my first Datsun/Nissan even though I've been a fan for years. SR520 in the datsun 520/521 forum has a nice SR build. I PMd him to get any tips or advise he may have. Like everyone including myself he's probably on the forum when he gets the chance.

If you do this, document it. :dblthumb:

I'll do my best to document it. I think there has been alot more 510 SR20 swaps done, and documented. I think thats where I can get the most information. fitting the engine into the pick up may actually turn out to be easier?
