I hear the name Mines tossed around like its Xerox or Scotch. I gather that its a japanese tuner-chipped ecu, and therefore should have a removable socket ROM. Is there anything more specific anyone can tell me? Is it a set tune or is there little guarantee that one ECU will have the same program as the next?

Thanks.

Not sure if they're socketed, but if you don't have the exact set of upgrades its meant for, its a waste.

Mine's makes good stuff, but its so specifically good that without the same setup you might as well spend your money on having someone else chip it and burn a rom for you.

:withstup and from what I've seen, Mines doesn't socket them, and they also put a bunch of wax on the chip so that you can't readily remove it. I could be wrong about the socket, as I've never had one in my hands, but I've seen pics of them opened up, and it didn't look like it. But as He said, if you don't have the EXACT setup that the ROM was tuned for, you might as well not bother.

I have a Mines ecu for sale. As far as I know, there is no speed, rev or boost limit. Plus its a little tuned for higher boost.

I didnt see a socket in there when I opened it up either.

I wouldn't think it would be in Mines best intrest to socket all of there ICs. That would make it easy for the demand to be on the chips, instead of on the ecus. I think that they would be losing money wouldn't they? But they might be nice, but I doubt it. but I could be wrong.

on the mines chip i have they set the rev limit to 12,500rpm  so don't go trying to find it...apart from that it pretty much just runs more timing than stock.

Is there a way to find out what the Mines ECU is tuned for? Or can it be sent back to them to be re-programmed?

Here is there site--but even babelfish will not translate all of ithttp://www.mines-wave.com/
