I don't think that's accurate... it's my understanding (and I may be wrong) that our tanks are 20 US gallon tanks, but only about 17.1 Imperial gallons.... there are not 3 reserve gallons of fuel in your tank.. that would give you about 120 miles of driving time AFTER you hit bone dry in your tank... the most you will EVER be able to put in your tank is ~ 17.1 gallons... again I could be wrong, but this was discussed earlier on herebeeristasty wrote:Give it a couple tanks if it's new. And your mileage should get better once your engine breaks in. Of course, your mileage will depend on how and where (city, hghwy) you drive.
Just to note, the estimator is for ~17 gallons of fuel, typically there's 3 gallons in 'reserve' when it blanks out.
And congrats on the new ride.
I meant 'reserve' as in what fuel is left in the tank when the distance estimator blanks out (I have typically put in 18 1/x gallons after it displays "---"). I wasn't saying that when the estimator blanks to nothing the tank is empty (that would suck - I would've learned my lesson 15x over ).rjdmmfl1 wrote:

same here i get about 488, but i think i get more than it estimates. Atleast i get more than it estimates for range and not mpg.mzinsmeister wrote:When I fill mine up it comes out to be 488 miles
Isnt running to empty bad for the car? I may be a knucklehead for saying that, but i thought that you would see better PERFORMANCE results on a full tank, EVEN THOUGH a 18+ gallons adds over 100lbs of weight to the car.Rob.Vegan wrote:lol, well after 3 speeding tickets I can guarantee you I am no longer speeding.
and when I fill up i wait as long as i think is possible to get the car as dry as possible
