mileage to change water pump

i dont think my water pump will be going out to soon but my sr has about ~~40k on it but i was wondering when would be a good time to change the water pump on it just for safety reasons...

this will help a drunk bon fire convvo..thanks !! =]

If its leaking change it, If you just bought the swap change it now. Regardless of the mileage just so you know when it was done last. Change the thermostat while you are at it.

Make sure to let the RTV cure for a long time.

I let mine cure over night but im insane.

RTV will tell you how long it needs to cure. It'll be fine after a couple hours, but check to make sure with your application.

You change the water pump when it fails. If the motor is out, change it.

As said above, unless it's leaking, leave it alone. Job should not take more than 30 minutes, with the longest part being removal of the fan assembly if still using the OE fan.

In regard to the sillicone cure time, the prefered Ultray Gray Sillcone should be ok/dry in one hour, but suggets 24 hour wait time for full hardness. I'd say wait 4 hours and you should be ok.
