I've had my car since January 15th, but I've already put 15,498 miles on it. That means that my basic warranty will be up in just over a year and the manufacturers Powertrain will be over the year after!

Can you buy a warranty FROM NISSAN to extend the coverage?

You can buy an extended warranty, but I'm unsure as to how long you have after the purchase or how many miles you can put on the car.

I've got about 5050 miles on mine and I've had it since the 28th of February. A little over a 1000 miles per month isn't too bad.

I just got my V in May and when I purchased I didnt get the extended warranty....BUT at least here in Canada, you are able to purchase it (warranty) after ..... There was an extra cost involved that related to the number of km's (miles for you i guess) at the time of warranty purchase.

Something makes me think I even have the info in the warranty package that came with the car......

Best suggestion ask your dealer!

If you go to WarrantyDirect.com they can get you great warranties for up to 150K miles and there is no limit on how long you have to buy they have like 100 different warranty packages.

When I get my Versa here in the next few months I will skip the dealer on thier extended warranty packages and will save between 15%to 20% form buy through them.

Most of the factory extended warranties can be purchased up to the end of the bumper to bumper because they don't actually kick in until then except for some instances of roadside assistance and such.

A lot of the dealers push the EW as it is a money maker at the initial purchase. The only advantage of buying it at time of purchase is locking in the purchase price which is sure to go up as the months go by. Usually you have anywhere up to a year to get the original price they quote then it will probably go up.

Be sure and shop around on the internet as you can save a bundle and get the same factory warranty from Nissan a lot cheaper there.

I don't trust most aftermarket extended warranties as they have a lot of disclaimers in them that can bite you in the butt.

You have to purchase it before 30 days.
