mileage calculation stopped working - '03 M45

car runs fine but the mileage calculation / computer stopped working... (gas gauge is working so I'm not sure where's the problem)

can anyone provide any insight to a simple fix?

Does it show your MPG still on that screen? Is it just the Miles to empty not working?

Hopefully you don't have the fuel gauge problem and are really on E but the gauge is telling you you have a half a tank. I would fill up and see how many gallons she takes and do the math. Full tank in our car is 20ish gallons.

the current and average mileage was reading *** (inter info)

I pulled/reset a fuse and restarted the car (and reset everything) and it looks like it's working again (strange)
