Mild-Mods, worth it to get ECU Tune?

I have very mild mods on my 97 240 KA24DE.

Intake, exhaust, header and a few suspension bits.

I've read about a few different tunes available, namely, JWT and Enthalpy.

Would it be worth it to invest in an ECU tune with my current mild mods?

If so, which one?

you could if you want to get the most power out of your car. but it is not nessary with those bolt ons. the stock ecu will compansate a little bit for the added power. I say if it runs alright and idles o.k. save you money for a jwt ecu when you go turbo.

I actually don't intend on going FI with this car. Instead, I'll continue with engine work - camshaft, cams, possible port + polish.

Should I wait until all these mods are done to get the tune?

yeah if you do cams and port and polish you will probably need to do a retune on your ecu or get a safc. you should do all the work that you want to do to it and then get a jwt ecu, ebay ecu, etc, this way you dont have to keep doing retunes every time you do another mod to your engine. why arent you going turbo? its so much easier than n/a with the ka.

I bought a jim wolf ecu tune for my car and it was like 2 plus weeks down time, and almost 700 dollars for a very mild tune, but i was able to drive the car with my new internals so that was a plus, Have heard good things about enthalpy but don't know any real facts about them. I would reccommend either saving some money for a full engine management system or safc and local performance shop for a better more accurate dyno tune

With mild mods you are better off with an SAFC and a dyno tune.
