I did a search, but couldn't find an answer. I've been looking to get an 07 m35x instead of an 08 because of the milage specs seem better. However, a dealer told me today that is strictly because of the change in testing standards, otherwise it would be the same. Is this true?

I cant say if that is true or not as im not sure about when they changed the testing standards, however I would suggest not to base your decision solely on the MPG specs given by Infiniti. The MPG between the 07 and 08 will be within 1-2 mpg if not the same and if you do the math its around $200/year difference max if not less. I would decide which of the 2 cars is a better deal price wise considering miles, previous maintenance, packages etc. Also in 08 they changed a few things like interior lighting, minor exterior body changes like bumper etc. Decide based on these factors and not just mpg. Best of luck man, keep us posted. Also the 08 might have a little bit of the factory warranty left whereas the 07 def. wont. This could be very helpful in the first month or so as you find any little things off about the car.
