The owner of my shop talked to me today about possibly turning my car into a Demo car for work. I would still drive it everyday, none of that would change, It would remain my daily driver, just when it get to work, it gets parked on the Demo stage that we have infront of the building. The only thing that would change is, 100% FREE stereo system.
I already own a pretty big system, as you can probably tell by my sig. I would be able to keep that. So it would just get put away in my garage. But we might start on monday, planning out a full new system for the little guy.
Right now, the general idea, or rough sketch is:
Kenwood indash touch screen dvd player. Probably the DDX8019Replace the 4 door components with Memphis M Class components. Leave the Bravox tweeters in the A pillar, possibly add a 2nd pair.
Memphis 4 Channel, 115watts RMS per channel Memphis MOJO, 4000 RMS X 1, yes 4000 RMS.
Keeping the rear bench in place, but normally folded down, a false wall containing 4 12s, in a high flow box. The box will be just far enough back that the rear bench can still be put up and fit 4 people in the car, but for normal use, the seats will be down. When you open the hatch, that will display the Amps, and Batteries. Batteries will be SVRs. My owner said he can have my altenator custom wound for more amperage, but when the vehicle is on display at work, it will be plugged into the wall anyways. But that will be after we see how it holds up with just adding batteries to start things off.
Subs will be 4 12inch EDX Bravox subs.
These subs can actually handle about 3000 RMS per sub. But in several setups we have done with them, normally around 1000 RMS, you get a really clean, really loud set up. Our other demo car(A Jimmy) is running the same set up, 4 EDX 12, on a Memphis Mojo. And it can do ALOT more than what we ever demo it to do. So this will probably be way over kill for the little Versa.
If you are not familiar with Bravox, they are unbelievable. I currently have the UXP subs, and they are almost the worst subs that Bravox makes, and The Alpine Type Rs I had before, cannot even hold a candle to them. And they are only about $20 more than a Type R.
Side note, almost 100% of the back half of my Versa already has at least 2 layers of dynomat. But with this set up, we would probably have to finish the whole car, and I havent put any in the roof yet, So a couple layers would need to be put up there as well.
Oh well, im just kinda happy at the moment. I havent had a HUGE system in about 4 years. The only part that my boss said I need to do on my own, is Lower the car, and add a front Stillen lip, to get it a little better appearance. I showed him the front lip a couple weeks ago and he likes it. Oh well, thats the least I can do for how much stuff is about to be installed in my car. At least now I have something fun to work on when Im not doing a customers car.
