Well I have my coupe over a year now and its come a long way. I have about 2 grand of positive equity on the car which would help me towards buying a new car.

Anyways the point of this thread is that I might have to let go of my coupe.I have paying everything for the car, the monthly payments, the car insurance, the gas and all the mods. And its come to a point now that I might not be able to afford the car anymore. The reason why I cant afford it anymore is because my household income has gone down drastically and now my brother and I are the only ones bringing in a steady income. (parents lost jobs) Now that school as started and Im driving more often it just makes sense to buy a car that is better on gas and has a lower monthly payment. (probably would get a new spec-v because I ran the numbers and the payments came out way lower).

So i guess the question is what should I do?Should I work harder and grind it out until my parents can find a job or should I save more in the long haul and change it out now to something cheaper.

Btw I love my coupe and all of the people on Nico you guys are all aces in my book

thanks to all the responses before hand

agreed ^^^ Family has gotta come first, when you're done with school and have your degree you will be able to afford something much nicer than an altima.

Wow...I'm impressed with the degree of responsibility everyone here is taking!

Sell the car dude. Help your family. A car IS NOT something you should be getting into debt over.

That sucks dude! Wasn't your dad working for Acura or something? I'd say sell the car... Maybe you can get a 2.5 altima coupe in the same color and transfer the mods over lol.If you decide to get another car, just make sure that you really crunch the numbers; it might not be worth the hassle of getting a new car. Good luck to you and the fam bro!

Im sorry to say but it looks like you will probably have to get ride of the coupe unless you really think you can pull off working more without it affecting other things in your life, if it will its not worth it. There will always be a time later on to get a even better car.

The only way i think i could help is by buying those rims off of ya

Concentrate on your education and the well being of your family. If you consider grinding and working harder, its sole purpose should be to support your family. For no other reason should you sacrifice your concentration on school, especially not a material object such as a car. Grind in school and you and your family will prosper.

If you are able to keep your car and your job while helping your family out that would be wonderful. However I know that's not going to happen, hence this thread, So I would say get rid of the car. Get a nice cheap 4 banger for a bit and then while you are helping your loved ones out in their time of need you will also be able to put some money away and get an even better car when times get better.

Family always comes first. I would rather have no car and a cheap as$ apartment with no furnishings any day if it meant my family was happy. And I'm sure that goes for most if not all people on here.

This guy down here has a corolla that has an old celica motor dropped in it. That thing is soooo mean. It's like vtech on pcp. As soon as he hits about 35k rpm the car launches
