i know with the other 'popular' motors there are a few things you need to do the swap, such as the specific maf/ignitor chip, things like that. i'm assuming the rb20 has the same characteristics, as you need the specific maf and the specific ignitor. however, is there anything else, besides the sensors on the engine, the ecu, and those two parts, and of course the harness, that you need for the motor to run. i'm going to physically look at a motor set and i want to make sure everything i need is there.....thanks

Get compression and leak down readings while youre there.that will show where the motor stands at internal wise. Make sure it has piping if youre not going with a FMIC right away. still gonna need trans and starter for it to crank and run also. That should be about it off the top of my head...-Alex

check turbo for shaft play by turning the turbine blades. ensure the wiring harness is uncut. shift the gears of the transmission. Check exhaust manifold for cracks and also turbo housing for cracks.

but am i straight on the parts i'm going to need, just the maf, ignitor chip, and the sensors on the motor? i just dont want to get this thing and then find out i need this 'impossible' to find sensor or module or the like.....

i think that's all of the nescessary items to get it to turn over properly minus the obvious fluids. ABOVE MENTIONED ITEMS ARE INSTALLED ALREADY ON ENGINE.

GET A COPY OF THE R33 RB25DET MANUAL AND TAKE A LOOK AT ALL THE ITEMS OF THE ILLUSTRATED PARTS BREAK DOWN AND GET FAMILIAR WITH IT THEN GO LOOK AT THE MOTOR.

wiggle the shaft, both up/down/left/right AND in and out, there should be 0 play, and even a tiny tiny bit is to much.
