The title is incase people chime in with some help because if you try searching for this topic in the archives, O2 sensors get very limited results.

Basically I've covered most of my bases for gas mileage maintenance items except for the O2 sensor. The car currently has 172K miles and I know the previous owner certainly never changed it. (wish there was a way to tell if the one in there is from the factory, maybe there is?)

Chime in if you got any tips, I'm going to get the sensor that has the adapter. None of this crimping for me. I'll probably let the car run for a bit to get the pipe heated up to allow for ease of removal, yes I'll be certainly wearing gloves.

Is there a way to check if my current O2 sensor is bad? On a SOHC motor? I can only find a write up for 91+

thanks in advance for the help...

if you've never changed the o2 sensor, it would be a good time to replace it at least every couple of years.

Looks like the one in her was from the factory. 172K miles.

The end of it is so blackened, like, if I can find my camera I'll post a pic. Holy.

Well after taking the car for a Sunday cruise, she definitely just drives better. This tank is almost empty so I'll be able to see what it did on the next tank.
