The J can be had for pretty cheap. The Q45 will out power it at any given time, but IMO the J looks better. But it seems around here that it's either love or hate with the styling. Either way, I think it's much more 'pimp'. Not much back seat room that you might need as you go off to college

Struts/shocks are expensive on the J, but check with the Infinitipartsusa.com sponsor for prices. You can have custom springs made that lower it from
http://www.coilsprings.com I had springs made there with a 1.25" drop and a slight spring rate increase of 20%. It will wear the stock shocks quicker, but it doesn't get driven that often anyway. Looks real good. Check member's ride pics for what it looks like.
I also recommend checking into an I30. Around the 96, 97 years. Those can be had cheap as well and are a strong car with the VQ30DE and have a large interior with a strong aftermarket force behind it.
