Might buy a 90 240sx. Need Nico's opinion!

Hey guys there is a guy around my area that is selling a 90 hatch that is primer grey, lowered, and has some ok rims. Exterior is primer gray. He wants 250 for it because it just quit starting. What do you think could be wrong with it? Ignition maybe?

Open to all ideas as to what I should do. Get the car or not get the car.Thanks!

Well he said it has coilovers on it but they need new springs. He said he would give me the springs he got fro Up garage in japan.Engine has 186k. what do you guys think?

if the shell is in good condition it'd be worth more than 250 just for that. i'd pick it up. there has to be 250 worth of parts in it - and even if not, it doesn't look like its in that bad of shape. good candidate for a swap I'd think. Or maybe get a cheap KA and be done for under 1000?

Yeah, there are parts on it that are worth more than 250 so I think i'm going to pick this up. I'm going to possibly try and clean it up and sell it, or just part it out.The thing is I dont really need two 240sx's. When I will only drive one.So keeping it and making it look nice is almost out of the question.

But who know's plans could always change.

The guy said he thinks it just needs a battery. He said it doesn't have power when you turn the key.

So it could be just as easy a a battery!

hehe if this was not a 240 forum, I would not know what he was trying to show me in that pic. must have been one of those gay cell phones that have so much sh*t in them, the lens location is in the way of you holding the cell phone practically for a picture.or just did not want to get the plates in the picture. maybe he stole it, thats why the ignition is screwed.....

I doubt its stolen lol. He said he has the clean title in hands. I think he just gave up on it. hopefully If I get it, I can fix the problems.I'm almost positive im going to pick this up! I appreciate your guys's opinions!

I'm also thinking that maybe a wire came off from the starter. Or the starter is just bad all together.

also kinda reminds me of a story I heard once.

check the alternator fuse in the fuse box in the engine bay, mine blew and it killed the battery and lights wouldnt work etc

He says that the lights turned on. But he was unsure about it, he was going to check it out for me today and tell me if the lights turned on.The coilovers he said were crappy, so I aske are they real coilovers, or just strut with coil springs with collars. He said they were the springs with collars, so that means they are most likely Egay garbage.

He said he and his wife just had a baby and he just doesn't have time to fix it. I think he just lost interest with it.

Hopefully the engine is not seized or anything. He said the engine ran fine before the whole doesnt crank delima.

But I can't really go wrong with this car for picking it up for 250.
