New to the board. I saw a 95 240sx with 213K miles on it. The person selling it says it's the original motor. Do these engines run this long? Will it be going out soon. The price for it is $2200. What do you think a fair price for it is. I was thinking $1300 since the motor is so old.

I haven't seen too many whit that kind of milage. It may be fine (if the owner was a total manance freak and drove like grandma) but I would plan on a new engine in the near future.

If the car is in good shape and runs, I'd go for it. Sounds like a good deal regardless.

if it is a 5speed, go for it. if it is an auto, i would seriously think about it, tho i doubt it would still be driving without the transmission being rebuilt.

u can always drop a new engine in it, afterdark has nice deals on rebuilt KA's which will add a lot more power. the total price would be less than a newer 240. if the engine was taken care of, it might last until 250K. but of course haggle for the price wether u think its a good deal or not =)

Get it... no questions asked. The body has to be good, and the car is only 7 years old. NADA KBB would put the car a few thousand higher ....EASILY!How much do you think putting in a new engine would be?Not as much as a lower mileage one even still with a swap.

get it ..-Jarret

delusion_s13 why an auto transmission. It better be a drop-top because that is all the 240 convertible came with. Other than that get a manual. I have an auto and I hate it If you can drive a stick then go drive an auto. I give you two minutes behind the auto before you say ***** that and go buy a manual.

Who cares about the motor. How does the body/interior look? If its good, buy it. Its a steal for under 2k. Get an SR, and drop it in and you have a great looking, very quick car for like 6-7K.

Nick.

if you dont want it ill take it. as long as its cosmetically decent its a great deal anyway u look at it. seriously if u dont want it ill take. my 95 is an auto and the fast and furious made me think gettin a body kit would be awsome. 2m onths with the kit and i want to get rid of it to build a turbo that i could have bought with the money

What's up everybody....new to the board, but saw some people looking for S14's. Put the word out. Got a 1995 240sx SE model, 93,500 miles, Sunroof, 5-SPEED!!, cd/cassette, windows, locks, keyless, new clutch kit and disc last week. Needs to go. Got my first baby girl on the way!!! Asking 5,000. Color: ??? Purple? Gray? Unsure of what it's exactly called.. Only problem is that at idle, after sitting for a minute it goes from 950 to 600 and then back up a couple of times...runs awesom though and hate to see it go....Let me know if anyones interested or live around Iowa...can deliver...

Hey 95-240sx. There are several folks on the BB with high mileage 240's. Over 200K is very common, and it's not due to "maintenance freaks" as someone mentioned before. Very durable motors. I have 186,000+ miles on my completely original '89 ,runs great. I do just regular maintenance and I don't even use synthetic oil that a lot of people think is a must. But buying one with that high mileage even in pristine shape could cost you more more to maintain than a lower mileage one as more things tends to wear out. Long term stuff like struts, and clutch slave cylinders. I'd have her checked out by a mechanic you trust before writing that check.

Yeah I understand ya...but I bought my 95 240 auto (becuz it was a great deal take over payments on a loan of $268 a mo. with 4700 owed), it had a veilside body kit, and 17in enkei rims, plus it was primed ready for my metallic silver paint job I was wanting my dream car to look like. But I had intentionally bought this car because I KNEW I was going to do the sr swap...now my dreams (with a lot of OT money at $20.00 and hr) are finally paying off.

If you can get cheap manual parts from a junkyard like I did do the auto to manual with your SR swap. And if youre going SR be prepared to have $4000K in cash or credit readily handy, as it does get expensive.
