I've been lookin into getting the midpipe fabricated for my 2.5 coupe, so i went to a local performance shop (Big Valley Performance) here in Tampa Florida today after work. I spoke with their fabricator/welding specialist, whom does excellent work, about doing my midpipe. After careful looking at my midpipe, he advises me that he can fabricate a midpipe for the 2.5 for about $350, which includes stainless steel piping, a flex pipe, flanges and labor. So basically the coupe will be able to breathe after this surgery. The work is guaranteed for life and for the quality of his welds, seems worth it.

So what do you guys think?? They could get this prototype done, im just a lil shy of the funds right now.

mid pipe..... before the cats? or a cat-back to the axel-back? the shop i spoke with could easily fabricate something like 2.5" from the headers to the pre-cats and 2.5" from the pre-cats to the cat or in my case, all the way to the muffler (going to take my cat back off lol) but he advised me not to do all that piping. said i'd lose crazy back pressure (especially on the stock headers) and i have a 3.5se, i can only imagine how it would be on the 2.5. taking off the cat made me a lot quicker up high in the RPM range BUT killed my low end power. pretty much had to get the exhaust roaring super loud just to pass a car or anything........ maybe after someone gets racing headers they could do all that

it'll make you quicker but it'll kill your low end power. when i put my cat ON it felt so much more responsive at lower RPMs but up high i was like WTF?!!! how come my car is going so slow? lol i'm sort of undecided on it at the moment but you'll feel a decent improvement up high

Thanks for the insight bro. I just cant see paying $350 for a midpipe when I purchased one for my 02 Nissan SpecV for $90. No one makes one yet so Im gonna wait and see.

lol the shop i go to is charging $50 to take off my cat and replace it with 2.5" piping so for the whole thing i'd probably be a little over $100 but some where around there is my guess. $350 does seem a little pricey. i want some CARB legal headers so when i get pulled over i dont have to worry about taking them off and putting them back on lol

That sounds way too expensive for just the downpipe. Just remember also your car is not boosted which if it was it would benefit from a more free flowing exhaust. Yours is N/A which benefits from a small amount of back pressure.

Very true statement That shop specializes in turbo's so they were all about it, kool people though. The fabricator wanted to redo the Stillen exhaust from 2 1/4 to 3" and im like ahh no way man
