Middle compartment - made usable?

Has anyone come up with a nifty way to make the pull-out basket usable now that there is no ashtray for change and no nook or cranny for receipts, I have this one big hole. I am looking for an organizer of some sort so I can put change, (the small space they give us is too small), receipts, CDs, etc. I was going to head to Bed Bath and Beyond with basket in hand but I thought I would ask here first..

I am happy with less nooks and crannies....less to clean and less space for junk to acculumate that I have to clean out later. The center box with the basket in holds my radar detector, GPS, Ipod. I have a splitter that is hidden under the basket to charge the components while stored in the console too, great set-up for me. I don't carry CDs any more, I burned 6 discs of mp3s and loaded them all. With about 250-300 songes per disc, I'll never get through it all anyways

I suppose, but I always have checks on their way to the bank, coins, coupons, mints, maybe it's just a girl thing but I do need compartments.

How does one take advantage of using a splitter in the center console? There is a cap covering a hole in the center console that I assume a cord could be run through. Is this possible?

In my SL, the cap covers another power outlet, I just got a splitter from wal-mart to plug in 2 separate components. I only have 2 items plugged in when necessary though, not all the time. I leave the excess cord under the basket and run the connector to the deive through the basket handles. Keeps it neat.

I love the pen holders, as well as the business card holders. If one wants some more organization, I would think you cold go down to staples and get something like a pen tray or something to fit in there.
