Is it nessesary to remove the dash to access the complete wiring harness and/or ECU for an S13 SR20DET swap? Or is it just a matter of knowing where to cut the stock 240 harness to begin splicing the silvia harness? Please let me know what you think the best method here is. I do have a front clip so I go the complete silvia harness and ECU currently attached to the clip.

You unbolt the ecu connector from the ecu, then thred it through the firewall out the engine side, there is a plastic holder up behind the hvac fan. I just pull till that little bastard breaks it doesnt take to much, when you get in there youl see what I mean. But no you dont have to take the dash out unless your hell bent on takeing it out because I dont think you can get to that plastic retainer untill the dash is out. Ive got harnesses out of two cars no problem.
