The dealership has been pretty stumped by this. It started out as only an intermittent problem but grew in frequency until it stopped altogether. They tried some sort of an update but finally replaced the microphone. Its been about a month and on 2 occasions it has not worked so I suspect it will all happen again. I live in Massachusetts and have wondered about the weather too but the problem started in the fall. I have asked if it is possible water is getting in and slowly doing damage. I called today and the point person is going to contact the nissan techs and have them do some research. Very frustrating problem but I was kind of glad to see someone else having it too. I can update if we make any progress.
