Michelin Sport A/S vs. Michelin PS2

PS2 should not be confused with any other PS, especially those with that marketing euphemism, "all season."

Either the PS2 or the F1. I was bown away by the PS2 for comfort, quiet, ride, wet and dry performance, and even wear.

I agree with Brian (maxnix). The Michelin PS2 and Eagle F1 GS-D3 are going to be much better than the Michelin Sport A/S. None of these tires are going to do well in freezing (sub-zero or snowing) conditions, so best to get true snow tires if you experience that.

I've actually had a great experience with the Pilot Sport A/S's this year. We've gotten a lot of snow (nothing super deep) and these tires grip leaps and bounds better than the stock michelins ever did. They track extremely well on the highway as well, and the road noise is about comparable with the stockers. I'm running 245/40-18's plus sized 1 from the Y34's 235/45-18's so there's a bit of speedo difference and I've noticed my computer reads about 2 or 3 MPG less, but my car is actually getting the same mileage... weird, but acceptable.

Oh, I entirely agree that the stock Michelin MXM4 is a mediocre quality tire, so the Pilot Sport A/S would definitely be a lot better than that!

However, the PS2 is definitely better than the Pilot Sport A/S too ... if you like the Pilot Sport A/S, you will love the PS2!!

Just don't drive it (or any other Summer Tire, for that matter) in snow or near/below freezing temperatures!

Also, the Pilot Sport A/S is not as good in snow as proper snow tires. With a high-power RWD car, I would definitely get snow tires.

Ditto Z comments. The PS2 is in a whole different universe compared to any other Michelin tire. But not for winter or snow driving.

I'm sure the best would be to switch between summer & winter tires. I have the Pilot Sport A/S for all seasons in the Chicago area and drive everyday with no problems. Those stock Michelins sucked in winter.
