noob question.

will the michelin alpin winter tires I bought for my `08 coupe work on an `08 or `09 350z?

once I have enough $$ (which might be never), I am thinking about owning two cars, one for work and one for play. namely a 350z (for projects) and my sedan 3.5 sl (for daily commute), or else an `09 coupe and again the sedan 3.5 sl.

the thing is, I have a set of winter tires kicking around, and would hate to waste them if going for a 350z on which they do not fit.

anyone interested in potentially purchasing? they are like brand new, maybe 2000 miles on them, I think they retailed at like $700 after shipping.

thx

Michelin PA3 Pilot Alpin are 17 inchers so unless you have 17 inch wheels, you won't be able to use them on another car

hmmm part 2 of the noob question.

I bought the alpin's with 16 " steel rims,,, but are you saying that whether or not it will fit depends on the tire size itself, which is 17"?

thx

tire sizes have 3 numbers XXX/YY/ZZ the ZZ part is the rim size, that # has to match your rim size. The earlier 2 can vary a bit

oh, I thought you mounted them on your original altima coupe rims, if you have steel rims already then of course it will work, it might mess up the speedo a little since 350z wheels are 18 inchers I think but it doesn't matter

Another flaw in that.. If you have two cars one for work and one for play.. shouldnt you store the 350z during the winter? That car is horrible in the winter b/c its small and its rwd.

Just my 2 cents.. hope that helps. And since u have two cars.. doesnt hurt.

ya, would def not be driving the Z in winter... good point................ Most likely will lean towards the coupe plus a commuter (IF possible) heheh.

I'm curious about storing any car though, how does it typically work if you don't have a garage, but do have a driveway. Just stick it in the driveway and leave it there,,, maybe turn on the car once a week for about 15 minutes just to let the engine warm up? or is there other actual preparation involved w/ storing the car?.?.

thx!

A quality car cover is a must! Then start it monthly, maby a quick spin on a nice day with no road salt around...
