For those of you who follow F1 racing, you know who Shumacher is. Here's the CL from the article:

"Seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher is in critical condition after he fell and hit his head in a skiing accident in the French Alps yesterday. The accident took place at the Meribel ski resort where Schumacher was on holiday with family.

The 44-year-old, who recently retired from F1 racing and was aiding Mercedes-Benz in car development, was taken to Grenoble University Hospital Center where he is in an induced coma and suffering from a possible cerebral hemorrhage. His body temperature is said to have been lowered in order to slow the rate of oxygen used by the brain and help relieve pressure.

Paris Match reports that doctors treating Schumacher have not been able to stem repeated hemorrhaging.

“He’s suffering from a serious cranial injury and is in a coma and required immediate neurological intervention on his arrival,” the hospital’s director Jean-Marc Grenier said in a statement. “He remains in a critical condition.”

Thoughts and prayers go our to him and his family. I hope he makes it. :frown:

This^. I understand he was wearing a helmet which saved his life. I also read this morning he improved slightly after a second surgery. I also hopes he makes it.

I would hope that anyone who has ever turned a wheel on a car on a track knows who Michael is. Regardless of the fact that he had Rory Byrne designing cars for him, 7 times world champion is still an amazing feat.

I wish Schumi a speedy recovery, he is an amazing person when you start reading about him and also a great teacher/coach (he did wonders for Felipe Massa and then once he stopped coaching him, Massa fell on his face).
