Its quite common actually... 2-4 days after MI is the highest risk for death due to arrhythmia, 5-10 days after heart attack, patient is at risk for free wall rupture of infarcted area... and up to seven weeks afterward, patient is at risk for death due to ventricular aneurysm or post MI myocarditis (dressler's syndrome)... it all depends on where the infarct occurred, how much heart muscle was damaged, and the patient's genetic makeup
