Me exact thoughts. I remember a wet road situation in a miata, heavy traffic keeping me from making a left-hand turn onto a busy avenue. I take a right, hoping for an opening in oncoming traffic to pull a quick 180, so I can head in the direction I originally intended. Plodding along in second gear at 35mph, I'm watching oncoming traffic, and I see my opening. Slowing slightly, I quickly mash the clutch, shove the gear lever back into first, yank the wheel hard left, and hammer the throttle. The burst of power from the little 4 cylinder engine, combined with a quick steering ratio and slightly slick roads provided me with a picture perfect 180degree powered slide...and on my way I went. Test driving customer's cars(miata belonged to a used car dealer, so, no holds barred) has never been so fun...except maybe for the "high speed vibration diagnosis" top speed run in a v12 SL600...but i digress...:oface
Bottom line, the Miata offers a quick, spirited driving experience. The car is nimble, tossable, and responsive. Every "sports" or "sporty" car manufacturer seeks to deliver such and experience. Two thumbs up for the Miata!

P.S.: this HAS been discussed many times, and most agree that the Miata is great, if maybe a bit too small.
