Thinking about getting some MGP Caliper Covers (http://www.calipercovers.com) eventually but they only offer red, silver, and black. I want to get them in white but to do that it'll cost an extra $100. Do you think i'm better off getting another color and just using some engine enamel on them?

i wanted to do that to.... They have brembo kits that come in white that are around $80 I think but they are very hard to get them to stick. I put them on but didnt let them harden on and ended up cracking all of them... lol epic fail

I saw those, they look nice but I don't think i'd ever trust them being on my car just being held on by glue. If it breaks off while ur driving ur f***ed. The MGP ones have a clip on thing that looks a lot more reliable. I might even do the rogue status "gun show" design on them:

I dunno why people consider them ricey. I mean if you count anything that makes your car look better "ricey" then we're all ricers. I don't want to paint the calipers red because I know it'll get messy and it'd be stupid changing the whole brake kit on a 2012 coupe just to get red calipers lol. To each their own ofc but I think I'll get them and let ya guys know. :)

its hella easy and you dont have to change anything, just paint (after taping things off)

I'm saying their ricey because I've seen a few in person since I started this thread and they just look plain bad. Huge flat plates on small rotors just doesn't look good, there's no other way to put it. Get them but don't say I didn't warn you lol.

Agreed, it's really easy to do. Ya they get dirty but they're calipers, it happens.

I understand. But tell me this doesn't look better than painting your calipers..

Oh you saw them in person. Bad as in quality? or just looks in-general?

Looks in general, and quality in the way that you know they're just covers. If you get them and park next to someone with a real bbk you would realize that they just don't look right.

I'm asking about the calipers look. And some people like their lip unpainted. As for wheels they're Konigs afterburner $2800 new.

Konig Afterburners are more like $1800(19")-$2000(20") new, and those prices include tires.

Those covers don't do anything other than try to look like something they're not (eg. giant wing + grocery getter != sports car). And more towards their appearance, how should I say this, they look... unrefined. And out of place.

"Yea I just bought the Wilwood BBK's a week ago. My breaking distance has decreased by more than 10 yards. What calipers do you have?"

"I have the K-Sport brake kit. Its performance is incredible and it highly reduces brake fade and continually cools and refreshes the brake pads surface under braking. What calipers do you have?"

".......clip-on plastic :gapteeth: "

((As they start laughing at him, he then walks away with his head down, taking off his clip-on tie ever so shamefully ))

So this morning when I went to work I went to go get some breakfast before I went in. I got out out of my car and a BMW 5series rolled up next to me when I stepped out of my car and it had red MGP caliper covers. IMO, they looked soooo cheap and tacky. Didn't look good at all. So if it was up to me, don't get these

Rice= pretending you have something you dont really have, usually tacky in appearance, accompanied with a false sense of confidence and chauvinism

I just had to post this, saw a civic and an integra type-s with "brembo" calipers on my way home. The calipers were HUGE! The rotors were tiny compared to the calipers. The rear rotors of the integra didn't even have a "brembo" cover  I don't know how this is consider cool to some people...I can see the gray back of the original caliper up close and the fake drill slots...oh and btw, their bright red, they mean business :tisk:

Unpainted or painted (although helps) our factory brakes are ugly; if you're thinking like me it's not worth $1,000 plus for a bbk if all you’re going for is looks, and if you ask me in stop and go traffic our factory brakes can work too good some times. I wouldn’t mind doing the brombo style covers if they had some that read Nissan instead Brombo or some other aftermarket name brand, and if they were more then just glued on. The one thing that I have been thinking about is if it's possible to fit a set of 90-96 300ZX TT calipers on our couples; power wise the two cars are similar, so this swap should be either a lateral or an upgrade. 300ZX brakes have the piston style calipers like bbk's, they look real cool and you can aquire a set for around $300-$400 rather then $1,000-$1,300. If you're not familier with 300ZX OEM brakes see link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-300ZX-24 ... es&vxp=mtr or these http://www.ebay.com/itm/30MM-NISSAN-4-P ... es&vxp=mtr If there is anyone here that knows this kind of stuff is it possible, and if so what would it take (rotors, brakes lines and mounting?) to do this swap.

The mounting points LOOK the same, but no way to tell for sure without some extensive research or direct side by side comparison.

Not sure this would fly though. All 4 corners of the AC are single piston. I would think upgrading to 2 or 4 piston would require an upgraded master cylinder, upgraded lines, upgraded everything basically. BBKs might be able to get away with it since you are only upgrading the front. Dont really know...
