First off sorry if this has been asked before.

I found this mount kit on ebay and I am wondering if anyone is using it. Is it any good? Also pictures of steering shaft clearance and sway bar clearance would be nice.

i saw those too.... honestly not knocking the little shops (even some of the big shops) but i hear the least complaints about mckinney and syko so i would stick with those, not saying mgm is bad, but i went through 2 disasters with my mount setup, and i am still not satisfied with outcome but meh what can i say, stick with what you know works

Not to mention Mack stands behind his company/product unlike anybody I've dealt with so far in my 4 years of buying after market car parts.

+1 to Mckinney!

Notice that those mounts use the stock transmission isolator. The stock transmission isolator sucks with the torque of an RB (ask Darius).

So the money you'd have to spend to get a good isolator you could buy the Mckinney set with a good isolator already included.

Yep those mounts look like your basic Top Hat design except for without the rubber isolators.

YES! cdorhout is right. The stock RB isolator is weak and allows the transmission to bounce and twist all over the place. I filled the isolator in with Flexane 94 so it's rigid as hell. I'll hopefully get the car running this week so I can take it for a spin and give a status report.

So for those $250 mounts plus shipping plus $50 in Flexane plus $50 polyurethane isolators, you're looking at $375-400 for those mounts. Go with McKinney or Syko. I have heard nothing bad about either and if something ever goes wrong, they scramble to make it right again.

These mounts are really good once you brace the plate.I have two sets and i would buy another. These are great motor mounts for the price. These are better than As$ Hat and have been around for 7 years.I have a set of his original mounts from 2000 in my car and they have held up great after i braced the plates.

You're talking about bracing the plates that mount to the top of the crossmember and the bottom of the actual engine mounts right? Bracing them to the crossmember?

Add some braceing to these plates on the under side...

UGH,double post

Doesn't clear the steering shaft, you have to make a custom down pipe.I dont have a sway bar so im unsure of that part..

Not a big fan of an unbraced cantilever myself (bracing should actually be channeling that's connected to the crossmember... this shape but upside down -> l_l ). If you're modifying them... might as well make your own and save the cash and know you have a good mount (this is what I did back in the day).

My mounts are exposed now that my crossmember is out of the car as of last weekend... I'll post up some pictures sometime soon... mine uses the stock RB isolators and block mounts. Just think... saving the money and making your own mounts puts a decent deposit towards a welder which can also allow you to build your own downpipe, modified seat brackets, stitch welding... whatever you want. Again... that's what i did... and no regrets

MGM mounts - SUCK!!! they are too short, soft metal bends under engine... I had to "customize" them... or actually I made them by myself... longer, using harder metal... DO NOT BUY THAT CRAP
