If I am maxing out my injectors right now, if I add a methanol kit will that let me bring down the duty cycle of the injectors or is the meth just there for pinging and for cooling?

It depends on the type of kit you get and whether or not you're using the methanol as a fuel source. A variable spray kit can definitly be used as a fuel source and allow the reduction of duty cycle. But only once the methanol surpasses the need for the injectors to provide additional fuel. The kits are mostly used as a means of knock prevention. You can add 8-10 lbs of boost with a good variable kit because of higher octane in the methanol.

What kind of kit are you looking at? I can help with the tuning and duty cycle reduction once I know the brand and type. Also, what are you using to tune the injectors with?

its a SMC Enterprises Water/methanol kit. its an older one but i think u can adjust to when it comes on. Right now I run a little lean at full bost past 4500 rpm and I'm maxed out on the duty cycle right now. I controlling it with a safc2 and a msd btm unit. I would like to just bring my duty cycle down a little at max boost. but if not then i will just by larger injectors. thanks

I've actually used that same kit. Its a simple single stage non-variable kit. Works well for anti detonation purposes for track days and such.

My suggestio to you is simple, get a dual stage boost controller. Run lower boost on the daily setup and then run the alcohol on the higher boost setting. The lower boost setting will enable your injectors to catch a brake in DC. You can also get an adjustable FPR and up the fuel pressure by 10 lbs or so. That will allow you to reduce the duty cycle as well. Assuming you have a pump better then the stock unit.

I'm already maxing the pump out. Im running a afpr and running 65psi. I guess I'll just buy some bigger injectors. thanks for the help.

Sounds like it may be time to upgrade to bigger injectors. Better safe then sorry
