I currently lease a 2013 Nissan Sentra and I'm pretty high in my miles and only a year into my lease... My mechanic told me that I should be able to remove a Fuse that would stop the Odometer from counting... So I tried a few, and the meters one did the trick, but my car feels like it won't go higher than 2nd gear...

I was curious if anyone knew what exactly happens when you remove the 10a Meters Fuse beside the dash lights not going on...

It cuts the vehicle speed sensor signal from going to the ECU, which causes it to go into limp mode and make the car hard to drive.

There is no way to do what you're wanting to do.... not that if there was I would help you screw over your local Nissan dealer and do something HIGHLY ILLEGAL :tisk:

Yeah, not cool.

Welcome aboard, but there's no way in hell anyone here is going to condone such shenanigans.

BTW, tell your mechanic I said he's not only stupid (for thinking it's that simple), but that he's also an a-hole for suggesting it.

I'm sorry that we hurt your feelings and came across as "so rude". Maybe you should read back over your first post before you start calling everyone rude, because i'm fairly confident that you must not realize what you posted.

What exactly did you expect? For a Nissan website to condone you doing something blatantly illegal and violating the terms of your lease agreement? Even better, you attempted to preform this illegal modification and then want someone to help you fix it, because your idiot mechanic advised you incorrectly?

You leased a vehicle and you have a yearly mileage limit. You signed an agreement to do so when you leased it and in case you didn't figure it out - Nissan will know if you tried to tamper with things on the vehicle when you turn it back in.

My suggestion: Find another mechanic, because he's a jackass for suggesting it and he should have never advised you of such a retarded thing.

You can also thank him for possibly voiding the vehicles warranty. Since the vehicle is under warranty, it violates your warranty terms to preform any work on it yourself or let another mechanic touch the vehicle, outside of routine maintenance. It sounds like you may have done something to damage the vehicle and it will likely have to be diagnosed by a Nissan technician. Once they find that you tampered with the vehicles electrical components, it will violate your warranty and the lease agreement, making you liable for all repairs.

But we wouldn't know, because we're just a bunch of rude people.

Sorry you didn't get the answer you were hoping for.

What did you expect? A step-by-step tutorial on how to violate Federal law?

For what it's worth, let me be clear - No one was rude to you. We were rude to your mechanic, who should probably take up finger painting, since he's clearly clueless about how cars work. Removing a fuse to disable the odometer, which receives a signal from the wheel sensor, will also disable your speedometer, ABS, traction control, and interrupts the signal to the ECU (which will cause the car to freak out and enter limp mode).

As far as I'm concerned, you should be mad at him for giving you erroneous information and making you liable for criminal charges. We simply gave you an honest and truthful response.

Life's tough - Wear a helmet. :)

I was told the best way to dispose of a body is to put it in a plastic 55 gallon drum and fill the drum with hydrofluoric acid.
My problem is that it is dangerous, will smell bad, and may raise questions buying 30+ gallons of hydrofluoric acid.
Does anyone have a better idea?

Throw it up on jackstands and spin the tires backwards; it will reverse the odometer. :dblthumb:
