Hey all,
Had a front lower control arm replaced after a mechanic found play in a balljoint.
Driving it around immediately after, I started hearing a metallic "humming" or "squealing" noise. It seemed to be most noticeable upon acceleration from complete stop.
I did some more testing this morning and found the following:
1. It is movement related as if I put the car in park or neutral and hit the gas, I can't replicate the noise
2. It seems to be most noticeable (now) when turning the steering wheel to the right. It doesn't seem to do it any more when driving straight. So, this seems to rule out bad wheel bearings (or does it?)
Regardless, given that I just had a lower control arm replaced, is there any way that the noise is related to this replacement?
Thank you!
