Hello! New here and I have a quick question. I was just pulling into a parking spot and felt a large bind and it almost felt like metal on metal. It took a little bit of throttle to get it the rest of the way in the parking spot. I wasn't about to drive it anywhere so I had it flat bed home to my garage. Was doing some testing and the car moves forward and and reverse with no issue, but as soon as I turn and move forward I get that loud pop and binding feeling. Put the car up on jacks to have a look and everything seems fine except for this one part. I'm no mechanical guru and this is my first AWD car. I took some pictures of the only thing that looked suspect as there's some wore metal and it doesn't appear to be lined up properly. Anyone see an issue here or is it normal? Car is a G35x 2006.

That is a ujoint that has completely failed. Do not drive it. Get it towed. Normal wear and tear item luckily it is still in there!

Good eye - You found the problem. That U-joint is screwed.

The only thing I can't tell from the pics is if it's the front or rear shaft - I suspect the rear.

If so, a trans or driveshaft shop can swap it out, or you can order one through one of our vendors and try to tackle it yourself... I think I'd lean towards the former.

I think I see a power steering rack bellows there. Maybe the front.

It also looks like the driveshaft yoke got pretty beat up might need just a new driveshaft altogether sadly.

Ended up needing a new driveshaft. 1000$ later and it's good to go!
