Wouldn't it make sense to toque down a metal head gasket more than a stock one because it would take more to crush the metal one for a proper seal?

depends on what you're using as a lube and also what type of head studs/bolts you're using.

If you're using oem, use the 30ft. lbs. if you're using arp leave it at the 58lbs. Be sure to use some type of lube when you're doing it though. I used the moly lube that came with my arp headstud set.

If you buy OEM head bolts the come pre-lubed. I just new headbolts for the sentra sr20de and torqued them to factory specs.
