im just planning ahead for the future.my question is,when you install a metal head gasket,do you have to pull the motor and get the block resurfaced.or can u just mill the head?my cuz just did his supra and he had to get the block machined.this is a much longer engine though.if anyone could fill me in,that would be cool.

If the deck is warped or scored then yes you do. If your head isn't warped or scored you dont have to have that machined either.

Dude the answer is right above your second post. I have a metal headgasket and I did NOT get my block or head machined. Hell I didnt even clean off the surfaces too good.

Better to be safe than lucky.

Especially with aluminum surfaces, I would look to have them both checked.

Even removing the headstuds in the incorrect pattern can add warp to the head.
