There are lots of places. I would not get a Cometic based on everyone elses experience with it.

I just ordered a Greddy/TRUST gasket last week and its on the way to me right now. http://www.rhdjapan.com All together with shipping it cost $210. They also sell Tomei gasket but its $60 more.

Boostboy can supply you with a NISMO one i think.

REGARDLESS of the Metal HG you pick, you HAVE to have the head AND the block decked. If you don't, it doesn't matter what brand it is, it'll leak.

The cometic works fine for the people getting the head AND block resurface IIRC.

I also bought a cometic... hope I didn't make a mistake.

I used an HKS Metal Headgasket on my supra and only had the had resurfaced (After a BHG - typical 7MGTE). I also used ARP studs and everything came out perfectly fine! Does HKS make a metal headgasket for the CA18?

It seems to be the #1 Choice for 7MGTE guys...

As long as your car hasn't been overheated theirs a 99% chance your block is flat (being iron it is hard to warp/crack) and even the head can also be flat too (i'd check that but!)

The block is MUCH less likely to warp, but it's still possible.

I'll give you some professional advice, don't waste your money on a metal headgasket unless you plan on getting pretty stupid with performance mods. A good Felpro gasket should do you just fine for now and there'sno need for headstuds. I would purchase new headbolts as the stockers does get a bit tired and stretch a bit.

When you say "stupid with performance mods", what do you really mean? I know the magic number is 300 HP, but the CA puts out about 170 HP stock.

You can do 300whp on an internally stock CA. When I say stupid performance means sustaining 20+psi runs and so forth and so on.

Woah. Ok, I feel you. That would be pretty outrageous. Thanks for the clarification.

Oh it is! This is what i feel i look like driving when full boost hits in a hard run

And i KNOW thats what passengers look like!!! Haha.

I check my head with a straight edge and it was less than 2thou warped if at all. The smallest feeler gauge was a 2thou. When the NISSAN spec limit is 4tho i call it good. Im just going to make sure everything is clean enough to eat off, and also use the copper spray to further seal things up.

Was this advice from the shop that says your engine is unrepairable?

They got game! You could've run at least 12 psi on the stock system without pissing off the engine. Anyways, I'll email you back and we'll go from there.
