Look,

There's been a lot of hype about GT4, Half Life 2, Doom 3, Halo 2, ect but the fact remains, MG3 is going to be the best game ever made until MG4. Characters, gameplay, story, all of it is going to be better than anything else out. Hands down.

You're dreaming if you think anything else will top it. Super sweet graphics found in Half Life 2 or Doom 3 don't compare to overall goodness of MG3.

Metal Gear (and post whore) for life!!!!

do you mean, Metal Gear Solid 3? Because Metal Gear 3 was Metal Gear Solid 1

all joking aside, the third one does look to be excellent. I was highly dissappointed in the second MGS. You didn't play Snake, you played Raiden (who was less sucky in the japanese version, which is the only one I played all the way through), and the plot barely made sense, even in English.

i will say this once and only once. There will never be a console game that can out do a computer game. Sorry to burst your bubble. The limited programming and no way of changing the code after its produced. That is it's downfall.

Grand Theft AutoAll RPG's after super nintendoAll FPS(No, halo sux teh c***) and it is playing on a console with computer parts..... lolAll MMO'sAll Strategy games

Only thing that the console has over the PC is racing games. But a good racing game for the console only happens once every 3-4 years...

anything for playstation got boring.

FPS= first person shooter. GTA was kind of more of an action game then anything.

Console RPGs since SNES have pwned....Xenogears was the best game ever....RPGs exist only as a vehicle for plot....cinematic RPGs own...Baldur's Gate sux....don't want to hear another word about it.

Anyway, I sincerely hope Kojima is screwing with us again with this 1960's thing in MGS3. My theory here is that "Naked Snake" is Big Boss, and that later in the game (like MGS2's time jump) will land us back in the present and continue with the "Patriots" storyline.

Oh, and I game on PC, I like it, PCs have better technology, but consoles have better developers. Ingenuity and gameplay are infinitely more important than frames per second and better AI.

PC's don't have good platformers (cept Mario 64 in emulation, which rules). PC's don't have enough quirky genre-breakers, like Pikmin or Mr. Mosquito. There's no DDR or Beatmania. It's all just who's FPS can be flashier.

I agree, Baldur's Gate was stupid.

However, I don't view the PC's lack of games like DDR or Beatmania as a weakness. More of the ultimate plus, I think. DDR and Beatmania are a scar upon the gaming world, and upon human culture.

Personally, I'm sick and tired of the console wars and the console v PC wars. I own all the major consoles and I have a PC, and I have games on each of them I like. I think each console has its strengths, and they each seem to have a different focus on game styles and genres.

Quit claiming one console is better than the other, and quit saying consoles are better than the PC or vice versa. And for all those people who beleive that the PC is fading out, you need to realize that this has been said before. Its a cyclical thing. New consoles come out. Developers build for the new consoles--that's where the money is. That lasts for a few years. Then the consoles start to show their age. But the PC is always evolving, so now its a step ahead, so developers move to the PC. Then the new consoles come out. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Right now, were getting to the point where the consoles are starting to show their age (yes even your beloved Xbox...). An example, look at DOOM 3 or Chronicles of Riddick (or ANY game that is on both) on the PC and on the Xbox. Framerates are better, there is more fluidity, menus are cleaner, and graphics are better, even on older machines like my 2.4 ghz athlon 64 with a radeon 9600. But in '05 or '06 the new consoles will begin arriving, and once again the focus will shift to the consoles.

I just noticed. This posts seems targeted at HashiriyaGDB. That's not how I meant it to sound. It just my opinion, with no target.

Doom: No offense taken. We yap about games far more than any other 2 people on this board, so we're bound to be in the same threads all of the time, lol.

I don't actually even play DDR myself, I just like that it draws hot chicks to Dave & Busters.

I wouldn't say that either PC or consoles are "better" than the other universally, that'd just be ign'int. PCs generally offer better hardware, while consoles generally get the best development talent, because as Doom said, that's where the $$$ are.

I'd like to see Shigeru Miyamoto and Hideo Kojima make some PC games though. I'm sure they'd come up with wicked stuff, imagine a Mario Platformer on PC, like Mario Sunshine but prettier and with continually-released, downloadable "expansion pack" Shines. mmmmmm.

i have always been a console player, but since i don't own a new gen console, i've been playing on my computer. There are certain genres that only the PC can truely handle, much like there are certain genres that the console accels at.

PC Genres that should stay on PC:FPS. The PC industry created the FPS standard, and it has always been infinitely better to handle than with a clumsy controller.

Simulations. Keyboard commands own again. With true simulations (flight sims in particular), hot key controls will give you more options than you would get with a console's limited controller interface.

MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). This one comes down to player interaction. While you can buy a controller with a keyboard on it for MMORPGs, the computer already comes with the proper interface. Communication and hotkey manipulation are key again. Plus, the console keyboards are way too small.

RTS (Real Time Strategy). Ever try playing StarCraft 64? No? Good, it sucked. StarCraft was infinitely better on PC. Also, the ability to download patches and updates for not only RTSs, but other PC genres make for an ever changing game world.

Games that rock on Console:

Driving games. While you can buy a driving wheel for the PC, most consoles come equipped for it already with analogue sticks.

Platformers. Ever try playing an old megaman game on an SNES emulator? The control layout is much more intuitive on a console. Again, you can buy the controller for a PC, but the console is ready to go.

Traditional RPG:There's something that weirds me out playing a final fantasy on my computer. I have emulated versions of FF4 and 6, but they don't compare to my console versions in terms of control and overall feel. Also, since most RPGs start out on a console, they lose something in the migration to the PC. I played the FF7 PC version, and I prefer playing my PS1 version.

Argh! The IGN Games MGS3 Review didn't mention anything whatsoever about plot! I guess I'll just have to go buy the thing tonight and play through it all weekend, lol.

It can definately get real complicated due to the enemy being smarter. So hard to hide when there's soldiers all over looking at where you're running to.

MG SnakeEater rules.

They need to make the Ape mission side-game a game in itself. I couldn't stop laughing at it.

I agree. Its funny and fun as hell. Id definately buy it if they were to make that a real game. Were you a fan of Ape Escape?

Oh and +1 for you. You're now 1 out of the 4 girls that I know of that likes MGS. And the only one that can actually play it.
