Metal flap in filler neck tube

Hi guys, I have been trying to figure this out. Does the 06 M35 has a metal flap in the filler neck tube? I’ve given it for granted every time I go to fill up the tank, however, last week I noticed that there is no flap..? I couldn’t recall if the flap was there or if the M35 just doesn’t have it. My 07 Maxima had it, so I might just confused. Could someone confirm if this flap actually exists in the 06 M35? If it does, I think mine could be lost in the fuel tank.

You may be able to look at the Factory Service Manuals on this site and discern that from the exploded view images. I can't for the life of me recall if my 07 did or didn't have it...

Thanks for the suggestion, Ilya. I looked in the service manual; the diagram doesn't show a metal flap. It's just odd that they would put it on a 06 Maxima, but not in an Infiniti of the same era. Anyways, thanks!

I also have never seen a flap in any of the 06-10 Infiniti Ms I have come across. In fact, I can't remember ever having one in any of the Nissans or Infinitis I've owned.
You should be fine.

Thanks, Edwoy! I was almost sure there was one. Your videos have been such a huge help! Do you happen to have an upper oil pan, front/back seals for the Ms coming anytime soon?
