Ok so last drift event my power steering pump took a poop on me. Just got a replacement one, but before i swap em out, i need to get all the old fluid gone. There are metal flakes in my reservoir, at first we thought it was my rack, but its deff the pump.

How would i go about flushing out the system with a beat to hell P/S pump before I install the new one? If i just remove the pump and lines, will the rest just drain out? but there would sill be **** in there and i dont wanna ruin the new pump already. need help. any help is appreciated. thanks.

If you pop the lines from the rack, the lines will gravity bleed on their own. You can move the steering wheel lock to lock to evac the old fluid out. However, if there are metal shavings in it, I would be worried about damage to the rack.

Hopefully someone can chime in on if it's ok to evac the rack that way.
