Metal buzzing round when at 2K RPM....

Hey dudes.

So I have a 2011 Rogue S.

When the RPMs get to about 2k-2.5K I hear a metallic buzzing/whirring sound. It doesn't fluctuate in terms of tone or volume, just a monotone WEEEHHHH that starts up around 2K and comes off around 2.5K. Happens while driving and while I'm parked or at a light.

Any ideas?

For some reason Nissan engineers thought we all needed to be treated to a cacophony of exhaust noises while driving at various speeds and rpm’s. Is it annoying? Absolutely. Will it hurt anything? Only when you’re sitting at the redlight on a beautiful day with the windows down and the person in the next lane asks what wrong with your car.
