I just replaced front and rear brake pads and had the rotors turned. Now I cannot get the "brake pads worn" message off of the dash panel. How do I get this to go away?? Also, my seat memory does not work. I have no light in the door panel but I can adjust the seats with the controls. It just doesn't move back and forth when the doors open and the memory doesn't work. Has anyone else had this happen?? How did you fix it?

Did u use after market brake pads?

Many aftermarket pads dont have the attchment for teh wire that acts as a sensor for the computer to "see" if u have new pads.

I heard there is a way to jerry rig it though.

yes, I used aftermarket brake pads but they had the sensor assembly. I also clipped the two leads and insulated the ends of the wires (making them appear to be an electrical "open")after I made sure it was not the sensors keeping the indicator on. I also tried to put the wires together (creating an electrical "short") but the lights won't go away. The current configuration they are in now is that they are separated, taped, and insulated.

You want to make sure both sets are shorted, either through the sensor or without. Both circuits must be complete to turn the message off.

I tried that too. First I made sure they were both an electrical open....the display still said "brake pads worn".....then I twisted the wires together creating a short....still have the display.

Check to make sure the cancel switch on the steering column is out to get your seat memory functions back.
