ok so as many of you know i got a stillen front fascia a year ago and cut the bars out of the grill.... took me forever to paint it because things kept coming up and i lost my job.... well i'm finally getting it painted (dropped it off today and picking it up thursday). with no bars in the grill i needed mesh. for some reason everyone stopped selling it... went to multiple Autozones, Kragens, Pep boys, Car Quest, some random car spot (forgot the name), and no one had mesh! finally i went to lowes (didnt want to get it online) and all Lowes had was green plastic mesh.... so i bought it, and some black spray paint lol

either tmw or thursday morning ill paint it and then thursday afternoon ill have the shop install it into the fascia

that green mesh wont work plus the diamond shapes looks too big and too much of a square. Home Depot has the metal ones thats just like the ones that comes with aftermarket body kits. Thats where I bought some back in the days. but um you can still go on and try it. wont hurt to try.

I would think that the green one is too soft...

the green mesh is actually really strong and hard.... me and my friend tried to rip it but it wouldn't rip.... plus we thought that metal painted black would chip off the black paint real easy when a rock or hard bugs hit it.... my dad has a E500 Mercedes with the sport package and the front bumper on the sport package has the same plastic mesh but its black instead of green

they didnt have any "hardware mesh"

should have been slightly thicker then the chicken wire.

i wonder what flooring mesh that they use for flooring would look like spray painted. its not square more like a honey comb.

I will try and take a pic when i am at work tomorrow.

when the stillen fascia came out i thought it was sort of ugly and then i edited a photo and came up with this idea. i bought the fascia a year ago and just now got it painted and everything. ill warn you now that if you cut out the bars, you'll have holes in your grill and the body shop will need to patch them up...

i went to lowes and all they told me for mesh was a certain row and when i went there they were all shaped weird and this was the only one that had the look i wanted. they didnt have it in metal so the neon green plastic mesh had to do lol it works good though

Thats the same exact look I wanted 4 my coupe but was a lil fearful of cutting out the bars on the stillen facia because of the holes. The front looks beatiful good job.

I like what you did bro. You couldn't find the mesh and you didn't give up. who would have thought that you could find it at a home material place like lowes. The fascia looks badazz. It will look better once you fix the fitment problems you have with it ( the mesh ).

Did Stillen ever chime in and state if the fascia could support itself ok with the bars cut out? I'm just worried about cutting the horizontal and the two support bars out due to structural integrity...

theres no support bars, just the polyurethane bars in the grill.... its perfectly fine, i've already done 100+ MPH with it on and no issues at all.

and to chiapetchua01, ya we can meet up. only thing i would actually like to paint is my calipers though. also, i just saw a silver altima sedan with exhaust and stillen front fascia and other mods and hes from another forum, i just emailed him and maybe see if he knows any other altimas in the area and maybe have an altima meet or something.

thanks for the compliments everyone

That is way slick, I love that look! Yea, the paint is sneeking off a bit...instead of wasting time taking it on and off to repaint...use that time to hit up a couple more places for Metal mesh! Or, buy metal wire and make your own chain link style!!! How cool would that be...to say you made your own mesh when you couldn't find it. But, once you get it...powder coat it and you are good to go!

In addition to the two horizontal bars for looks, there are two smaller vertical bars for support behind them.

See below...

oh ya, forgot about those little things connected to the bars. its nothing amazing though. the shop put bondo with the mesh and the bottom dryed good but the top, i didnt let it sit for long enough. so the bottom of the mesh is never coming off and then for the top, you can zip tie it to the metal piece you take from your factory bumper.... OR you can look into how the sedans are. if the sedans dont have any extra support then you dont need it because they wouldnt set the sedans up for failure.
