I'm pretty sure I can have these done and made. How much interest is there on an item like this. If you know me, you know it will be quality!

I'd need help from someone in or near Riverside CA, (this area is southern CA, 50 miles east from LA, 70 miles north of san diego).

Yo Jason,I would be interested but could you post some current samples of where and how it could look like? For example, Jaguar XKR?Longlivetitus

A friend of mine fabricated his own mesh grille for a J30. It looked great. I'll see if he has some pictures. I think it would look nice on the F50.

here is a mesh aftermarket grille (similar to the XJR) on my 99 Vanden Plas. The 'R" model has a color matched ring around the grille while the Vanden Plas has a chrome trim. (note 02 Q45 w/IMPUL in back)

here is an early evening pic after an all day total detail

Jason,Question for you:

Can you add a slight crown (curve) to match the side profile of the hood to the bumper? Like the XKR, the mesh isn't flat, it a curve to it and solid, no flex, no nonsense--it was designed for the XKR!

Also, have you thought about the spacing between stainless steel mesh, and what are you thinking in terms of gauge?

Could be the coolest thing!Longlivetitus

I'll add a little input even though I don't have an F50.

If I were going to run a mesh grille on an F50, I'd want it to be flush with the grille surround and I'd want it to follow the contour of the stock grille. The reason for this is that on a car like the F50 with it's very curvy form factor and large grille, a sunken and/or flat grille (mesh or otherwise) will look like no grille at all from the sides. You need to retain the 3-dimensional presence of the factory grille or you'll end up looking kind of like you have nothing more than a gaping hole in the hood from some angles. The XJ can pull off the recessed mesh because it's got a more complex shape to the nose. But the Q needs that fill-out on the nose or it'll look empty.

I agree, anything more than 0.5" recessed would look not so good.

I just finished a one-off custom grille using an aftermarket ABS grille from another car. It was flexible and allowed for the curved effect that DOOM referred to. Also, I tried to stay with the 'slight' reccess of the factory grille.I cut uot the bars and left the uotside section. I put the rear logo infiniti on but am going to put the larger one back on. Had I know Jason was this close to doing one, I would have waited!!!!

That looks MEAN!

Great job. The one my friend made for his J30 was similar in color and logo placement, but the size of the holes was much smaller. It was more like a speaker grille.

Yours really looks good on the F50. I'm slightly jealous. Having the belt buckle on my G50 is slightly less cool to me now.

King,Thanks for the props!!!!I carried a small tape measure around for a month measuring other cars grilles. The dodge magnuum was just slightly larger so I ordered one and strated trimming it to fit inside the Q grille frame. alot of hand work!!!
