Is anyone else pissed that Mercedes came out with a 240 before Nissan had a chance to bring it back? I realize if they do they should call it a Silvia and give us the good engine anyway, but dammit, Mercedes has no right, the 240 number was an exclusive mark of Nissan, they brought the first 240 here in the form of the Z car(yes, I realize it was "Datsun" and they were doing it to distance themselves from the possible embarassment of failure, but my point is still valid) the 240 designation has no right being on anything but a coupe anyway. I know that's how Mercedes does their models and crap, but this C240 sedan is damn hippy crap and it pisses me off(done in best Eric Cartman impersonation)Note: the Mercedes could be a coupe, feel free to correct me on that, but it's still crap, and it pisses me off

my friend had a red, turbo volvo wagon, i don't think it was a 240 but it sure did rock the casbah. :D

i wouldn't get to upset about the merc, i mean, it's not like it is a coupe that looks like the late s15. Then that would be outright copying.

Dude volvo 240s are slow as **** , my sister had 2. They have like 115 hp, but you could get a 160hp turbo i think. Still probably not as fast as a 240, that thing is a tank, yet slow as ****.

dunno about the new ones but old ones are infact slow and heavy. Can the new ones beat us even with all that weight on the car?

I should go on the record as saying.... I have no idea how fast a Volvo 240 is. I made the comment as a joke (almost). I assume they are slower, due to the weight and very nature of the car. But I have seen some of the least suspecting cars destroy a 240sx.... so I was also kind of serious.:)

If anyone is interested in burning a mercedes or a volvo in protest, I will gladly bring the matches. Could be fun when the gas tank goes.

If the good people at Nissan want to bring it back I am sure there is nothing stopping them. The only problem is that they are in the game for money and the sentra ser is their "Youth Appeal" car so, I don't think they will spend the money on another sporty car with the 350z just out.

I know it hurts. Just means guys with 240s will get more respect for having a rarer car.

I suppose we should also get annoyed with GM and BMW because they have used "Z" in their car names too. I doubt if you tell someone that you own a "240", that they're going to gush how wonderful those Volvo's are. More often than not they'll think you're talking about a 240Z, not a 240SX.

If you want a fast Volvo, hunt down a healthy 740 Turbo. Not only is it fast (good power and reasonable weight) but it will out handle and out stop most cars. Plus the aftermarket support is outstanding.

they make it that nice to try and make people think the car they are buying is worth the 40G's they pay for it. funny thing is, is when they drive it off the lot, that price goes down to 30. what a rip off

No! Let the Volvo bashing continue! I started this thread and I think the Volvo bashing is necessary(possibly due to being cut off one too many times by stupid suburbanite ******es) but it's funny at least, and I still think 240 needs to be trademarked by Nissan or something, I can't stand to see it on other cars

Every car has something good about it. Even Pintos and Vegas. Even a (I might choke on this) Pacer.

OBTW, Mercedes was using the 240 number in the late 60s on a sedan and coupe (along with the 190 and 220). They also got to the 280 and 350 before Nissan.

I think the Q45 is safe.

you can't trademark just a number, like 240. A C240 would not infringe on a 240SX trademark anyway.

I'm aware you can't trademark a number, it's just something that annoys me. Actually no, Pintos, Vegas, and the Pacer had nothing good about them.

I dont see why nissan cant use 240 but anyway those damn NAZIS should apoligize to nissan and admit that their cars are over priced volkswagons.
