Friends, its been a good two years... I learned a ton on this forum and must say its a top notch helpful community of people. I thank all the people out there with a billion posts, who randomly pop into posts to drop knowledge on rookie DIY guys like myself with too many questions. Unfortunately, I simply needed a more practical vehicle. My new JX35 is a lot of fun but its not quite a car. I'm learning to love the SUV/Crossover life but I'll always love a slammed VIP luxury car the most. See my for sale post on Craigslist below and finalized project car. If anyone is interested, has any feedback, or has any tips on selling feel free to share. Thanks again!

Let me know if you'd like to sell your rubber floormats. They look to be in good condition.

question about your starter install - do you have an extra transponder in the car and how does this stop thief from stealing?

I'd probably make more money that way! If anyone lives in MA/RI who wants to tackle that project be my guest.

Found a dude locally that wants to trade his 2007 CLS550 with a clean title, 117K miles. Figured that would be easier to sell as the title is clean. Anyone ever traded a car before? How does that work?

Up here in Canada both owners visit a Ministry of Transportation office and state the exchange. The clerk then has access to a Black book value database of each vehicle and you pay taxes based on that value not what was agreed upon. If this is the same in the US with DOT, figure the taxes component out between the two of you and be prepared to pay then work out the differences. Other than that nothing else is outstanding, unless the vehicles have liens on them. I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole if that was the case. Finding lien information might be tricky until you get to the DOT offices.

Well, no luck so far... Here is my updated post

http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/4956141493.html

At this point I am thinking it may be worth getting rid of the BBK and wheels and trying to get like $9000 for it? Any advice on how I can turn this combo into 11K or so?

sell some s*** to the vultures here. i'm sure someone would snatch up the bbk and swap you headlights + some cash.

the demand for these cars is so soft and i've never been able to figure out why. if you asked me a year ago i would say it was the terrible gas mileage but gas has gotten pretty cheap. maybe the rebuilt title is scaring people off. i think your car looks good and is a great deal.
