We left NY at about 7PM. We made the drive mostly at night, so we did not get a lot of pictures, or see too much. We had the Civic loaded down with 240 parts, and took a nice long comfortable trip. We stopped about every 2 hours to get out and take a short break. I considered stopping for a while, as the rain was pretty bad at times between Cleveland and Columbus. Traffic was light, but there was a lot of night construction and lane shifting in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
NXER's experimentation with 65mph long shutter duration shots.

We lost the battery somewhere in Ohio. We found out when we tried to start the car after filling up between Columbus and Cincinnati. The car was dead, the battery had boiled out. I got a jump from a guy in a brand new Charger. Apparently the battery is in the spare tire well. He was headed to Northern Ohio from North Carolina. After that I kept the car running until we got to Memphis.
The plan was to switch drivers at Cincinnati, but decided to drive through the city before I woke NXER up. We made the turn south into Kentucky and I saw the "Speed Limit 70" sign and thought "I think I can drive a little longer..." So I drove through another hour before NXER took over.
Coming into Nashville

She didn't sleep well, and wasn't doing well so after Nashville I took over again and drove into Memphis. The trip into Memphis was easy and straight forward. No real grades so the Civic was zipping along well. We got into Memphis about 10:30 AM.
We've been here a couple days, so we unloaded the Civic, and I ran into Arkansas for gas, food and a battery. Filled up at Shell and and went to WalMart for a battery. Not my favorite brand, but I know I ca get it replaced damn near anywhere I go.

Coming back into Memphis.

Got me sum BBQ

Memphis is great so far. We've been staying downtown. The people in the city here are nicer than the people in the country in NY. It's a trip to get used to. Since we have a friend here, we've been toying with the notion of staying. It's hot as hell, but it's livable. And there are no blizzards, and my car won't rot to death. If we do stay, we are definitely taking more of a trip first.
