After I got my car back from them fixing the driver seat movement, I noticed the memory seat settings were reset. I reset them and now after the car sits over night, when you go to get back in it, it seems to forget the settings. It remebers it throughout the day, but not after sitting over night. Wierd! It has done this twice already. I have set them before, and didn't have problems with it. Is there a program step that I'm forgetting to do?? Maybe someone can explain the procedure of programming them to stay where I set them to.

Same thing happened to me when I got my car back from the dealer for the same issue. I was holding the button for a while and realizing its not doing anything. So I'm like damn I needa reset all the positions again which made me a little upset but no big deal. lol

I had the same issue, but i took my car into the dealer for them to fix. it took a week for the part to come in. when i got my car back, it worked great, for about a week but then started acting up again. The seat and steering wheel would only go about halfway back to the correct position and then stop. I had to hit the memory button for them to go all the way back.

I got frustrated with this, and turned off the option of the seat and wheel moving upon exit/ entrance to the vehicle. I will have the dealer look at this again at my next oil change.

SteveTheTech????

Have you heard of this issue??? Who is at fault on this? The dealer techs, the car, what? I really hope this isn't going to be a problem I am going to have to deal with several times. I reset and set the seats last night. I will see if it holds. The car is schedule to go BACK to the dealer on Wednesday for the repair on the gouged steering wheel (from the seat removal), the dye pealing on the driver door panel, and maybe even the memory seats. This is ridiculous. I cannot seem to get away from this dealer! Until they fix all of the problems THEY created, I cannot start going to a different dealer...........

too funny that you posted this up... I got in my car this morning and I had the same thing happen to me. I hope this isn't a sign of electrical problems to come.

I don't have an answer for this problem happening repeatedly, but if it happens when you get it back from the dealer after service it is more than likely that they interrupted power somehow and the memory lost the settings.

I notice that if I touch the controls before I hit the button in the morning nothing resets...maybe when you are getting out of the car you are incedentally tapping the control causing it to loose the memory??

I also know that the dealers are lazy when it comes to saving your presets. All it takes is a 9v battery in the rear power outlet to retain memory when the car battery is disconnected....most don't do this.

Another thing that happens at the dealership is ecu updates. If you bring in the car and there is a newer version of something for your car much like the ICC update and the TCM update, etc, etc....usually madated by some TSB or Recall, the new program goes in an wipes out everything for preset memory. Radio stations, seat position, stereo settings....all wiped out. Even the "Auto-up" and the Auto Sunroof function is wiped out. I spent a few minutes trying to figure out why my windows weren't closing till I realized this.

Either the dealers are lazy and don't take the time to do the necessary things to keep you memory or tell you about what they did, they forgot about it, or they have no control over the ecu presets when performing updates.

Hope it eases the pain a bit

No ease of pain really. Even if the presets were wiped out, then why doesn't it recall my new settings now? It doesn't make sense.

it recalls them through the day and you only have problems after the cars sits overnight right?

Check around the switch....when I got my car back from when they did the seat TSB like you the tech failed to install the plastic cover where the switches are for the seat movement.

For me the problem was the seat would not go down in the back, but it would go up and down in the front. Me being the DIY'r I fiddled with it and found that the plastic cover just needed a good push to clip on completely and fixed my problem....maybe yours is similar?? It's worth a look and definitely easier than giving up your car for the day just for something that silly.

The seat moves in all directions. The steering wheel nor the seat will come all the way to my presets.......

I experienced this for the 1st time yesterday. The wierd thing was that it happened during the middle of the day. T he only thing that I can think of that was different this time was that I had my bluetooth phone enabled when I got in. I doubt this has anything to do with the memory stuff not working, but it is the only difference I can even think of. Usually I enable bluetooth on my phone after I start my car, but bluetooth was already enabled because I forgot to turn it off.

I have no idea why that would cause this issue....it is just a shot in the dark. I haven't tried it again to confirm, but I will tomorrow morning on my way to work.

To cancel or activate the entry/exit function, the
selector lever must be in the P (Park) position
with the ignition switch in the LOCK position.
Push and hold the SET switch for more than 10
seconds to cancel or activate the entry/exit
function.

The indicator lights on the memory switches (1
and 2) will blink once when the function is
canceled, and the indicator lights will blink
twice when the function is activated.

The entry/exit function can also be canceled or
activated if the “Lift Steering Wheel on Exit” key
or “Slide Driver Seat Back on Exit” key is turned
to ON or OFF in the “Comfort & Conv.” settings.
(See “VEHICLE INFORMATION AND SETTINGS” in
the “4. Monitor, climate, audio, phone and
voice recognition systems” section.)

This really helped me reset my steer wheel and seat functions
