I was cleaning up my 2015 Frontier and noticed the exterior cab light housing is melting where the bulbs are. This is the housing over the rear window . I had the doors open since I was cleaning the truck and the housing was extremely hot to the touch. One side is nearly all the way melted through. Anyone else see this? I called the dealer and this was the first the service manager has heard of this. Any other 2015 owners go check yours and let me know. I'd like to post pictures but doesn't look like I can?

Cheap halogen bulbs get wildly hot, especially one that may be defective. I've had an overhead cab light that would fry bugs on contact if left on for a few minutes. All later model Nissan vehicles to my understanding use CAN bus circuitry and installing a non-CAN bus style bulb will blow fuses and/or make bulbs get wildly hot. If the bulb is in fact the proper style, replacing with LED's is the ticket. Minimal heat and maximum brightness.
