a couple weeks ago the heat from my down pipe and turbo melted my brake fluid resiviour and cap. ive had new ones on order through my local dealership but they say they are on back order from nissan. so it doesnt look like they are gonna come through for me.

i called some junk yards but havent had much luck. in fact the only place that even has a 240, only has a 1990.

so will a 1990 240sx resiviour fit a 1993?

god i hope so, lol

Well don't quote me but as long as the resevoir seals tightly to your MC, you should be fine. I don't think there was any changes to those anyway. What you may want to do is wrap the new one in aluminum tape as I did to mine and also do the lines too. The tape will help deflect the heat from the res and keep the fluid in your lines from boiling. You don't have wrap all the line entirely, just the immediate area around your mani/turbo and downpipe.

I hope it all works out for you and let us know.

Have a good one.

Yeah I melted the hell outta mine as well (I'll get pics tomorrow), along with some vaccum line that I had in the area and the little cap that sits on top of the strut tower (over the top shock bolt). I ordered the complete replacement (I told them to give me everything thats plastic that has to do with the BMC resovior etc) and it worked out to about $50. The parts are on backorder, of course-- took about 3 weeks for everything to come in from Midway. Got my free Infiniti hat though!

LOL, Mine went out after going to the 1/4 race track. I ran it about 6 times and drove home. On the way home on the highway a friend of mine in a 2005 corvette with less then 1k miles saw smoke blowing out the back of my car. Some of the brake fluid sprayed his hood! Anyway it was fun driving back on the highway and traveling 50 miles back home on Ebrakes. Here is a pic of what mine looked like.

Here is the repair we made to it to get home.

You know the funny thing is we talk more about my car melting the brake reservoir that night then we did about anything else You gota love BOOST!

Well I guess I will chime in, I too melted the bejeezuz out of my stock one. Lucky I caught it in town and took one off an RB20 clip we had at the shop. Then I took a small coffee can, wrapped some shop rags around inside, painted the can the shop blue color, slapped a shop sticker on it and put it on.

Never had a problem since and the can is one of the funniest most talked about things on my car. Especially cause it has a chunk missing where we cut it out to repair an exhaust leak I had at the track once......ahh good times.

I had a custom metal heat shield I made and it was so nice. My first work of custom fabrication ever, I was so happy, however the metal was kinda flimsy and a rather fat cat happened to spend the night on myhood and bent it in...and bent the metal on one of the bends, and cracked it. So ever since then I haven't had one. Anyone know of any good/cheap turbo wrap stuff? Cause I am starting to melt my second CF hood.

I've got a bottom-mount manifold. ...and about 10 inches between anything brake-related and anything exhaust related.

The 4cylinder turbo / DP wrap kit? I got the same one.. good kit it looks like. $91.23, was at my house in 2 days.
